A little piece of Vintage Fabric...

A vintage print studio would often give you a tiny piece of fabric about 4" x 4" and I would have to scan it in, put it into a repeat and separate the colors... Vintage prints are really unique and I kind of enjoy working with them... but they are kind of pain in a butt!

Vintage Print #2! I think it was a bit tricky print since there is no empty space and each elements are slightly different(hand drawn) which is almost like a requirement for vintage prints...

Have you heard of Patterson J. Kincaid? It's sold at Saks Fifth mostly but they are one of the brands Jaya Apparel owns and they are really nice contemporary Women's brand...:-) The designers like to work a lot with cool vintage prints so that's where we come in... They usually have a pretty small swatch of prints they want to use and we scan them in, put them into repeats, clean them up and sometimes recolor... It gets a bit tricky to work with when textures get involved but I really enjoy vintage prints... I believe this print survived the cut and in production but only time will tell I guess...:-)
